My interest in this new Hobbit franchise can be summed up in one word - meh. I've never been a fan, obviously, and squeezing three movies out of one book just screams desperation. Uber pass.
Your critique of Utopia, which I'd like to think I had some small part in, is just fucking excellent. Really, really well written. Kudos, sir. Yeah, can't wait for the second series of that.
I can more than handle a page dedicated to Lena Dunham. "Girls" is just fantastic TV, a world removed from the glossy, beautiful people and "set up set up punchline" sitcom world of Friends. We don't have the third season yet (debuts next week, I think) and Adam has now become my favourite character in a show filled with great ones. Just a joyfully fucked up goof with a big ol' heart. What's not to love?
Godzilla vs the Sea Monster? Damn. Did not see that one coming. I don't even own that on DVD now, and I haven't seen it in years. Is it even available to buy in a decent print?
More awesome work, Trashy.

Oh shit, I guess Sea Monster isn't. I thought it was among the rereleases from a few years ago. Dick move, Verboon, recommending a movie that isn't hardly available. I still my have my shitty dubbed VHS of it with the awesome cover art. And yeah, I do have you to thank for Utopia, C. If you thought Adam was something in Girls, wait until you meet his sister...

Godzilla vs. the Sea Monster was released on North American DVD by Sony in early 2005 as part of a series of DVDs they put out to commemorate Godzilla's 50th anniversary. Sea Monster was one of five movies from the 1960s/1970s that Sony obtained the rights to for that occasion but have since let lapse, and those five DVDs are now out of print (the others being Godzilla vs. Hedorah, Godzilla vs. Gigan, Son of Godzilla, and Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla). Fortunately, Sentai Filmworks (via their new Kraken Releasing banner) have just licensed Sea Monster, Hedorah, and Gigan and will be releasing all three films on DVD and blu-ray come May 6, just in time for the release of the new Godzilla movie from Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures. Details on SciFi Japan.
