The wheels fell off some time ago (something to do with having no money and it being a fairly pointless endeavour) but I used to have The Mission, where I would try my damnedest to collect EVERY single comic book movie and adaptation ever released. To my own credit, I did pick up some fairly obscure titles, but even I'm beaten by this list of 40 comic book adaptations that you didn't know were from comic books. (OK, that's a lie. I knew about a lot of them, but some of them caught me off guard). www.empireonline.com/features/movie-comic-book-adaptations/p1So how many did YOU know about? And how many have you seen?

Annie? Who the fuck didn't know Annie was a comic strip? Wanted is common knowledge, although there is barely a resemblance between the comic and the film. Do you even fucking Mark Millar, bro? I didn't know The Addams Family, though. In fact, a lot of those I didn't know were movies.

Yeah, some of them were no-brainers. Did anyone with an internet connection NOT know Men in Black was a comic book? And Annie? Come on... I've never read any Addams Family strips (they're probably terrible) but I knew they were from that source originally, albeit after starting my doomed Mission.
Some of these just look terrible, though. A British reviewer who I like (Mark Kermode) called the movie 2 Guns "Almost certainly evil." Burn.

Yet another thread to remind me how much I don't know about film.
What did you do with your collection after you gave up The Mission, Curmudgeon? Did you start selling it off or is it just taking up space in the closet?

I sell nothing. I've still got CD singles I haven't played in years gathering dust in my house.

Yeesh... I keep all my music for better or worse, but I have no qualms liquidating inferior pieces of my film collection. I'm chuckling a little bit just thinking about "Steel" sitting on a shelf somewhere in your place.

Hey man, Steel, Nick Fury ( David Hasselhoff version), the Dr Strange TV movie, the 1970's Captain America movies, the 1990's Captain America movie, Howard the Duck..they're all there, all doomed to never be seen again.
