GOD DAMN IT. GOD DAMN IT. I had the entire first season of Dracula recorded on my Sky box and deleted it last week, mainly due to needing space but mostly because the trailers made it look like everything you said in your opening paragraph, that Dracula was transformed into some Twilight-esque, tortured love sick loser. I haven't read anything about it, but a genuine vamp fan like yourself giving it the seal of approval is all I would have needed to give this one a try. Again, GOD DAMN IT. Hopefully Netflix has it sometime down the line.
On a similar note, "Bitten" was something I had heard of, but decided to pass on despite the sheer smoking hot-ness of the female lead. I'm kinda sick of teenage werewolves/vampires/whatever right now. Vampire Diaries has been deleted from my life forever, Teenwolf was God awful and this looked more of the same. Looks like I'm missing out on some decent horror TV.
I knew what to expect from your list of wasted villains, and this could have been a much longer list (Van Helsing's Dracula, Voldermort), but I haven't seen Wolverine yet. I think the mental scarring of D.I.N.O (Deadpool in Name Only) just scared me away too much.
More good stuff, Trash.

Bitten is actually shaping up to be not as good as I had hoped. Maybe the actors aren't capturing the characters personalities (they seem somewhat lifeless) or maybe it's just that the writing in the book was so damn good that the quality of the story couldn't be properly captured, but I can't really see it catching on as it is which is a pity because the series as a whole freakin' rocks. Dracula was a happy surprise for sure, though.
