Better late than never, but my most anticipated sequel has a fucking release date after almost ten years of empty promises.

Yes, yes, and three times yes. Really hope they haven't waited too long and the ship hasn't sailed on this, because Sin City was a superb film. I haven't read any of the original books so I've got nothing to base it on and have no idea how any of the stories unfold. Hopefully the sequel doesn't get lost in the clutter of big movies out this year. Colour me excited.

The original was a borderline verbatim and panel-for-panel reproduction of the comics. I don't think that was ever done before. This one is based on one of the better stories, but what I'm concerned about is that Frank Miller has supposedly written some additional material to weave into the movie. The Frank Miller who wrote the original comics and the Frank Miller who has written nothing but insane crap ever since are not the same Frank Miller. So long as he stuck to the formula of adapting the comic flawlessly, it wasn't going to be a problem, but I'm slightly concerned about him going off script here. His only other film experience was The Spirit. Please, don't fuck this up, Miller.

Ah, the Spirit. A comic book movie that looked so bad even I couldn't bring myself to watch it. Yeah, let's hope he got that nonsense out of his system before he wrote the new scenes for this one.
