I'm not a huge fan of these latest publicity stunts by the makers of the Simpson's, but after 20 odd years I guess you got to keep doing stuff to keep people watching.
This time around, cribbing from THAT Game of Thrones episode, "The Yellow Wedding" will see a famous Simpson's character die.
Names like Mr Burns and Granpa pop up, seemingly because of their age, but I cannot ever see them killing them off. Too important, too reliable a character to focus on their present (the Old Folks Home, the Power Plant) or their past. No way will they go. Someone online mentioned Krusty. No fucking WAY.
My pick? Barney Gumble. When they made him tee-total they lost everything funny about him, and so when they just made him a drunk again there was this sort of sadness to it that lost the humour, and it probably didn't sit well with alcohol support groups that a guy gets back on the booze again for cheap laughs. So - Barney is my pick.
Who's yours?

Disco Stu's going to the factory of glue. I don't know, man, the cast is too goddamn huge. Barney's a good pick, but so many one-note characters have gotten old over the years it could be just about anyone outside of the Simpsons household.

I don't see them killing off a one-note joke character like Bumblebee Man or that fucking "Yeeeesss" guy with all this build-up. I think it will be a genuine character, maybe Millhouse's mother or something? One thing's for sure, I'll no doubt find out online before I get to see it anyway.

Anyone is fair game because this is just a publicity ploy. If it's a major character they'll surely end up writing them back into the show later on a la Family Guy.
But for the record, my money is on Nelson.

Ugh, Family Guy. That was so useless. Brian was gone for what, a month? And they replaced him with some ridiculous Italian stereotype dog why? Simpsons has killed off multiple characters in the past and never brought them back so I'm hoping they don't start going that route.
