We've been entering some dark territory over the last few week, League. Last week we had one of the most hated bands of all time, and THIS week? We're looking at a popstar that, no fooling, almost killed off this entire website. Like the Devil himself, this creature of destruction has taken a seductive, pleasing form, and called itself Lily Allen. Don't look too long, she could corrupt your soul. So what actually happened? The Sun newspaper printed a picture of Lily on holiday, flashing at a camera. Problem with that? She was 15 at the time. Whoops. I made a thread about the topic, with that picture, and the overlords of Proboards nearly wiped my entire page because of it. Jailbait girls exposing their breasts gets frowned upon, apparently. Who knew? So she's got a lot of making up to, make no mistake. Thankfully, Lily Allen has always been a cut above your everyday popstar and X Factor dullard. Mixing a smart, tongue-in-cheek attitude with fun, inventive pop songs, she's a breath of fresh air in a stagnant, terrible top ten chart. This song, "The Fear", takes a pop at vaccous, fame hungry wannabes and tabloid culture in general. See what you think. vimeo.com/5782708So, despite the fact she tried to kill us all, how do you find the accused?

Those effects on her voice for the chorus are ridiculous. That could be a dog barking for all we know. "I want to be rich and I want lots of money"? Jesus fuck, who writes shit like that? That is at least 5 kinds of stupid right in the the first line. Even if it's meant as satire, the redundancy alone should make it a no-no. The music is alright, I guess and the melody is definitely nice. I'll give it a maybe. It could have been good if it were better produced and had a first line that didn't make me want to throw my laptop across the room.

I hate that song, but I must admit it's quite clever, and it does sound pretty good. I just hate it, but my personal feelings can't get in the way of things too much. So. Not Guilty!

You hate the song but you vote in her favour anyway?
The beguiling temptress has already gotten to you, hasn't she? HASN'T SHE?
