They've fallen off the radar recently, but Fun. made a bit of a splash a year or so ago, off the back of an inspired cover on Glee that really put them firmly in the higher end of the chart. Catchy songs, a pretty decent album (with some unfortunate Auto-Tune) followed. I'll be keeping an eye out for them in the future, for sure.
Before all that, though, was the debut record that probably about five people bought. You'd think that a first album would be more stripped back without the backing of a major label. Well, there's no fucking about with the lead singers voice, but understated this most certainly ain't. I only got this album recently and thought I'd share with you a song that seems to want to pack every single thing it can into it's running time. It sounds French! It sounds like a musical! It sounds like Queen!
