Now I'm finally back on my site, thought I'd introduce a whole new segment that is, admittedly, exactly the same as the old segment. Instead of pop songs this time around, I'm submitting songs that I believe are classics. Along with "irony" and "literally", the word classic is among the most over and incorrectly used word in the English language. I read on YouTube that Will.I.Am's new single isn't as good as "Classic Black Eyed Peas songs like I Gotta Feeling." Get the fuck off the internet, whoever you are. I'm here to correct that, but not with songs that everyone knows are classics. I'm not going to put up "Bohemian Rhapsody" or "Thriller." They're older songs, yes, but perhaps not given the recognition they rightfully deserve as, you got it, classics. Up to speed? Jolly good, let's start. Week One, then, and we start with the daughter of arguably the most famous and recognised singer of all time. That would be Nancy Sinatra. Had a bunch of hit songs did Nancy, but her work with singer songwriter Lee Hazlewood remains her most acclaimed. I bought their first collaboration album after hearing it was the inspiration behind Adam Green and Binki Shapiro's album, the first album to crack into my All Time Favourite list in years. This is from that album. A cult hit, it's been overshadowed by other Nancy songs like "These Boots Are Made for Walking", but this is, to my ears, a masterpiece. Listen to that chorus and you can almost SMELL the drugs. Here is "Some Velvet Morning." A classic? Lee Hazlewood - Nancy Sinatra, Some Velvet Morniā¦: youtu.be/Sb-SVPJM4L4

"Classic" Black Eyed Peas? Because classic totally means like, five years old and junk. Even before Sinatra's angelic voice graces this track, I was there. I need to buy some of this stuff for sure. Love it.
