If Frankenstein isn't science fiction in its purest form then I have no fucking idea what science fiction is. Frankenstein is a joy to read. I loved it, and (I think I've said this before) I can't get over just HOW wrong the movies got it. If that happened now we'd be calling for James Whale's head. Why have you made him some shambling mumbling retard? He has real, intelligent conversations with his creator. He can run up fucking MOUNTAINS. And you think the new Turtles movie is screwing with the source material?
And sadly, that's the only one I've read. I know, I know. Jurassic Park has never interested me because I kinda hated the movie, 20,000 Leagues I can't imagine I'll ever pick up, but the other two are on some bucket list somewhere. Nice article, though.
Deadpool is a strange one for me. I'll say now I have never read a Deadpool book. Ever. I've heard about him a lot, mostly through you, and it all sounds half-great. All that stuff you mentioned he did? The Star Wars joke? Great. But the breaking the fourth wall stuff just..bothers.. me. According to Wikipedia Deadpool is aware he's in a comic book universe and is drawn by animators, so that means when he talks to Spidey and the Hulk and everyone else.. none of it is real. They're all drawn too. How can you get gravitas and depth in a story when someone's winking at you about how someone is just drawing it all? I can't get behind that shit.
I walk by a Red Dwarf roleplay shop every day and, as unfair as the stereotypes about misfits and neckbeards is.. it's kinda true, don't you think? I remember walking by and a guy bellowed, fucking BELLOWED "TO THE TABLE" when the shop opened at 9am. He'd been waiting for it to open. Just putting that out there, I believe that young man was single. That movie sounds great, though.
Loved the writing this week, Trash.

Cool. Deadpool doesn't do the fourth wall thing often. It's usually just some random reference like saying something about Tobey McGuire to Spider-Man or citing an issue number when someone greets him by asking how long it's been. It's pretty funny and It seldom gets in the way of the story.
