Did anyone else almost cheer when the Falcon flew in accompanied by the theme? Wasn't expecting that strong of a reaction. That lightsaber thing with the laserguards looked a bit dumb, though. Like it was trying SO HARD to be cool and different from other lightsabers. What say you, Robot Chicken?

Damn. I dig it, and I don't want to. I had the same thought about the laserguards, Trashcanman. Sith lords are learning from Count Dooku's mistakes, I guess.

Lightsabers are cool because they're sleek and futuristic. Swords haven't had hilts since the Crusades, man. I'm with the people who are questioning the practicality of it too. "Lightsaber resistance materials" or not, surely a powerful whack could just chop those silly things off anyway, right?
But like everyone else, I'm enjoying how nerdy it is to even be having this discussion at all.

Saying that, it is "a LONG TIME AGO" so maybe they're just catching up? Anyway, this is the first Star Wars movie that's taken place with the internet being the powerhouse that it is, so I have a feeling this will be THE most we've ever been submerged in online hype, discussion and meme's before it's even released, enough to make any Marvel/DC movie look like some little indie flick. Example? That little rolling robot thing in the trailer you see for about four seconds? This thing? Yeah, some guy just got this put on his skin forever. You could very well be tattooing the new Jar Jar on your arm there, guy.
