www.toplessrobot.com/2014/12/new_title_and_details_for_kong_skull_island.phpCorrect me if I'm wrong, but didn't Peter Jackson already make that exact movie without the "distinctive timeline" part (whatever that means) and a different cast? And I'm actually a little concerned about the idea of another King Kong vs. Godzilla. This is not the 60's and definitely not Japan. I feel like the new Godzilla straddled that extremely fine line between cheesy and awesome really well due to the fact that the director was clearly a massive kaiju nerd, but I can only see a crossover doing us wrong.

Plus, like the article says, wasn't Godzilla much bigger than Kong? Like, MUCH bigger? Unless they retcon the character to be the size he is in the old movie posters, towering over buildings (albeit with a Fay Wray the size of a bus in his hand), that wouldn't work at all.
I dunno, I wouldn't say no to a Godzilla vs King Kong movie, but I can't really see it working at all, especially as they would need a distinctive victor (not just "oh, they both fell into the sea"). Yeah, not a good way for the series to go.
