I went to Universal Studios last month and was super fucking impressed with their Bayformers ride, which combines 3D screens with an actual coaster in some really fantastic ways. But what was even more amazing was the area in front of the ride, where actual fucking massive Transformers free walk and converse with you. My son and I got to hang out with Optimus Prime, which left me in shock because I had no idea this sort of thing was even possible. Later on I saw a little girl make friends with Bumblebee. This tourist got a less warm welcome when she attempted to take a selfie with Megatron.

Fantastic. I've been to Florida and the theme parks there three times in my life, and every time is better than the last. UK theme parks are OK, but American's really do make them so much better. There's so much more effort in making everything perfect. The character actors have done their act 1000 times and yet it feels like they're doing it for the first time when you see it. You just don't get that here. The last time I was over there they were just building the Harry Potter world, so we seriously need to get back over there some time, and also to see the Transformers, who look SO damn great they could wipe away the memory of the actual movies.
