I have no idea why I missed this thread for so long.
(I've not seen any of the films you mentioned in the "0wnage" thread, so I skipped that one).
Anyway, one of my major problems with Deadpool, the little I've actually seen of him anyway, seems to rely on "LOL, he's breaking the fourth wall" instead of giving us any good stories with him, so a classic story arc will be something I'd totally love to see. (By the way, I can't see a movie version working with him at all).
Wow, I can't believe Constantine is worth watching at all. I'd heard about it and passed on it straight away. I know nothing of the books, so I'll definitely check this out. Is it on Netflix at all?

Not yet. The first season of Constantine just ended. Deadpool doesn't really do the fourth wall thing that much in the comics. Way too much is made of it. A movie version could absolutely work, but they shouldn't focus so much on the comedy aspect. Yeah, he's got a mouth on him (hence "the merc with the mouth") but it usually doesn't get in the way of the badassery any more than Spider-man's quips. People really get that character wrong. A film of just Deadpool's Weapon X origin story would be fucking amazing. Dark and tragic and twisted and just plain great with a nsty sense of humor. This Jar-Jar Binks version of him everybody wants to do is a relatively new thing.
