For those of you out there who do not know it, since the divorce from my first wife I have slowly taken up painting. It has strictly been an occasional hobby which I do as the mood strikes me. I admit I am not gifted and have had no real training outside of basic art class and viewing the occasional Bob Ross episode from PBS as a child, nor do I pretend that I would know anything in regards to the wide world of art. I just paint as I feel and that suits me fine. I thought I would take a moment and share with the other Dwellers here the artwork I have done so far. Feel free to offer any opinions, no matter how positive or negative.

"Thanks To Metropolis, A Modern Fairy Tale" by InvisibleWolfMan © 18th of Feburary, 2015 About a month of plans and constant replanning plus at least 25 hours total to make.

This painting is the first that ever came to me so solidly without me having a clue how it was going to eventually turn out. The constant evolution of it amazes me and every little bit has significance and reason. This is also the first painting that I could read like a book and see all of what it is trying to say, if that makes any sense to anyone else out there. I am still finding new little things, things I never intended to see, do or think in regards to it. In short, it is amazing even to me how it manages to do what it does.

So that's it. Hope there's something for someone out there to enjoy!

The silhouette portraits are interesting. I really like the self-portrait. It's like your body keeps you grounded, but your ind is infinite expanses of sky. Killer metaphor. And I'd hang that Metropolis one in my house any day. That one is just great in general. A Way Home is, to quote a particularly awesome Dexter character, "cottage porn", I like Roads' abstract and eye-catching design, and Picture Painting is the best name ever. I thought The Future was called Highway of Bacon after the nice AC/DC homage. I noticed the descending grade of Highway to Hell, but it seems kind of pessimistic to re-use it as a metaphor for the future, yeah? Oh wait, I just looked again and it goes up and down in peaks and valley. Never mind. All in all, pretty damn good. Art is one of those things I have not the slightest bit of talent in so I'm always really impressed by people who can do it.

Like Trashy, I have absolutely zero talent when it comes to anything art related, and I'm pretty sure this is the first thread of it's kind in the history of the Fortress. Kudos to you for putting yourself out there as well, asking for critique on this stuff isn't something a lot of people would do.

Anyway, the Metropolis drawing is bad-ass. Really, really cool. "Highway to Hell" looks like 80's video game artwork, and I mean that as a high compliment. The portraits of your wife and your stepson are probably my favourites of your "gallery." Striking stuff.

Don't abuse children, or else they turn out like me.

The title itself gives clues to where I drew my inspiration from and gave me the direction the painting took. So many little things find their way forward even though that is not the way they are planned to go.

Lake Minnetonka is a reference from the film Purple Rain, Ben. I feel like Appalonia's boobs should be in that picture somewhre, but that's probably just me making excuses for more pictures of boobs in the world. I don't know jack about Prince, so the reference went right over my head. I was curious because I live about a half hour from the actual Lake Minnetonka in the Twin Cities, MN and I wouldn't consider it a place to purify anything except maybe your liver.

A painting made for my son, who absolutely loves this version of Cliffjumper from "Transformers Prime." This is one of my paintings I must admit any picture I would take cannot do justice and should really be seen up close and personal. In keeping with the whole "robots in disguise" idea, I decided to allow certain aspects of the character to come through the painting while the rest remain hidden. A prime example is Cliffjumper's alt mode, a red Dodge Challenger. Only upon careful inspection can one see the outlines of the red areas of the car, as it is barely less than a shade darker than the rest of the painting. I could go on and on but perhaps it is enough to now let the painting speak for itself.
