When it's only March and you're already talking contender for TV Show of the Year, you know you're onto something good. And that something good is Fortitude. A SKY TV exclusive, which a few years ago was a sure fire sign of TV death, but credit where it's due Sky really have begun creating TV of genuine quality, and "Fortitude" is about as good as TV gets. The trailer is an odd one, because it doesn't give any hint of what the show is actually about. Take a look. www.youtube.com/watch?v=egy3n-7DQAUWhen I first saw this I presumed it was a gritty British gangster thriller or something. Nope. Sky deliberately kept their cards close to their chest on this one, so I won't spoil it here either. It's a slow moving, very realistic ten part series that really gives the characters time to breathe and develop and gives the story time to slowly unfold. And when it DOES unfold. Holy shit. A brief synopsis with no real spoilers; on the remote island of Fortitude an American detective is called in to investigate when a scientist is not only murdered but torn to shreds. Mrs C summed it up better than I ever could; it's like "Broadchurch meets the X Files."

Not for streaming, just for the "saved" DVD section so that when it comes out it'll automatically be in my queue.
