The Walking Dead comic books look to be so much better than the TV series. I couldn't get into that show at all, but the comics sound great.
"the X-Men represent possibly the most convoluted mess in all comicdom." Christ, this. I once subscribed to an X-Men comic for about a year, but finally tapped out. I remember there was a page that had ONE panel in it, a giant picture of Xavier, who explained the entire torturous backstory of what was happening in one huge speech bubble. Ain't nobody got time for that. I knew Whedon had written Buffy comics, but had no idea he had written X-Men books. Double sold.
"Penulimate?" Why is that?

There were some changes made to the site and I wasn't really feeling it anymore. The new editor wanted me to write listicles and considering they didn't even pay me, I wasn't big on being nudged to write clickbait content. Plus, I was getting pretty short of ideas after spending so much time doing two articles a week so it was probably just time.

That's a shame, but "clickbait" is really where internet articles do seem to be going. I get a bunch of writing job links in emails every couple of days. If I see something that sounds like your sort of bag, I'll let you know.
