So, let's say you've been given the greenlight to make a movie. Any movie. About anything. Any budget you like. What would you make?
I watched (the excellent) Palo Alto yesterday, and it got me thinking. If I given the option of making a movie, it would probably be in that mould; quirky, smart indie drama/comedy focussing on outsiders and counter-culture icons. Think "I Shot Andy Warhol" or on a bigger scale "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind." Add in my own choice of obscure bands for a soundtrack and, yeah. That would be my movie. Wouldn't make a billion dollars, but would get great reviews and no-end of love. That's my movie.
How about you?

I think I'd be all about the adaptation. There are so many great stories out there and most of them seldom leave the printed page. And on top of that, so many that do get done don't really get done right. Even though Dracula is one of the most adapted works ever, there only a handful of good ones. And it's bizarre to me that there's no animated version. I'd love to do a really true to the book modern animated adaptation of that one.
