We move on from novelty rap records and onto some balls to the wall fucking rock and roll. Remember that?
Going by the dismal state of the music charts and the almost non-existence of guitars in there, you could be forgiven for thinking that the world had indeed forgot about rock music. It's not QUITE as ill-advised a statement made by the guy who didn't sign the Beatles ("guitar groups are on their way out".. whoops), but it's fair to say that rock bands just aren't making a dent in the mainstream music world.
Well, not quite.
There is a light at the end of the tunnel. A British band, two guys, one on drums, one on guitar, who through word of mouth and online buzz had goldust ticket gigs, a number one debut album and even beat One Direction for Best Group at the Brit Awards, the most mainstream, corporate affair in all of music. They are Royal Blood, proving rock and roll is very much alive.
