So Kanye West played Glastonbury this year, and even though a LOT of people hated the idea of him being there (thousands of people signed a petition to keep him out), his headline slot was, like, fucking NEWS. Everyone was talking about it. Newspapers were doing live blogs about it. For better or worse, this was a rare musical event. And didn't Kanye know it, finishing his set with this; "I'm going to say this tonight because 20 years from now, 30 years from now, 40 years from now, I might not be able to say it, but I can say it tonight... You are now watching the greatest living rock star on the planet." Sigh. But you know what? After all the hype, Kanye West, the biggest rock star on the planet, didn't attract the highest crowd of the festival. Nope. This guy did. Lionel Richie. Yes indeed. He performed a hits laden set that drew the highest number of heads for the entire weekend, and this wasn't some ironic love-in; his Hits album just went to number one after the festival.

West is getting downright humble in his old age. Greatest LIVING rock star? Who talked him down from greatest rock star of all time (OF ALL TIME!)?
