I'm 100% out of touch when it comes to video games, yet I'm genuinely surprised I've never heard of this except from you. Did you buy this as a download or as an actual physical release? Great review, by the way, and this place has sorely been missing your work on "other" websites. Oh, and " Or perhaps if there were constant technical glitches, game-breaking bugs, and full system crashes Godzilla would have felt more up to today’s critical gaming standards." Preach, yo. It doesn't sound great, but it reminds me of games that me and my friends would play that weren't great but we soldiered on through with them because they were the sort of games we were into in the first place. Hey, I'd much rather play this, something genuinely different, than Call of Duty 8 or whatever the fuck. So is there a story? Or is just "Godzilla vs MechaGodzilla - Round One - Fight!"

I downloaded it when it was on sale for $12 on PSN and right now, it'd be a better game for $60 bucks than Street Fighter V, which is literally unplayable at the moment and has almost no fucking content even if you could play it. Godzilla's not a great game, but it is genuinely fun. The kind of game you can just pick up and play for a little while and have a good time with. Like I said in the article, most of the problems with the game could easily be fixed and could probably be attributed to a rushed production schedule or just laziness from the developer. It could be a great game with some polish.

Man, I feel like someone just deflated me like a balloon after reading that about SFV. I didn't even know it was out officially yet, and I just did a bit of review searching and that's the common opinion - it'll be good when it's finished. Why in the everloving fuck would you release it before it was done? What's the point??

I wrote a rant about it that I'll post here when it publishes. It's a really bad situation. The game was rendered playable in 24 hours, though, at least, so now I can enjoy the little that is there. But seriously, if you don't want to play multiplayer there is pretty much no reason to get this game. The story mode has this really cool stylized art style, but it literally takes like 5 minutes per character to beat. Three single round fights against an opponent who hardly fights back, a couple art scenes, and you're done. And survival mode is really frustrating after you beat easy because it's 30 increasingly difficult consecutive single round fights to pass it. I consider myself a decent player with 25 years of experience with the series and I'm struggling with the last 4 fights and it sucks to be shot down at the finish line every time. Hard is like 50 consecutive fights that are even tougher. And once you beat them that's it. Nothing else to accomplish for now.
