So BBC Radio 1 compiled a list of the most annoying things that you can hear in a song. Some of these I agree with, some are just.. what?? Have a look. www.bbc.co.uk/music/articles/a3274bec-978e-4400-90fc-36b170c19df5Obviously, Auto-Tune is a sure fire nominee. It's thankfully dying a death now (as is Dub-Step, also on here). What's interesting is that dubstep pretty much dominated Radio 1's playlist, as did auto-tune, so to now class it as the most irritating things ever is a bit of a hypocritical move. Hey, if it's popular at the time, it's great! Slap bass can sound smug and self indulgent and unless it's before a scene with Jerry, George and Kramer I can do without it. The diva wailing thing is one of my all time irritants. Mariah and Whitney and Christina and Celine.. just because you CAN hit those notes, doesn't mean you have to all the time. Sometimes less is more. Hate that shit. What's your take on this list? Anything else you'd put on there?

Wow, that's professional-tier music journalism now? Awful writing. "Widdly-widdly guitar solos"? "Slap bass is nothing but bullfrog burps and holding your guitar up under your armpit"? Tha fuck? I don't think a shout out is a musical noise so much as just a self-indulgent thing rappers do. I'd replace it with saying "uh" over and over again in place of actual lyrics. Steel guitar used to be really cool, it's just that modern country refuses to use it in any actual musical capacity and instead just...well, makes irritating noises with it. And ukuleles are dope when used correctly. Fuck you. Let's be real, though, 1-10 should all be auto-tune.
