As someone who's trying to buy classic or favourite albums in a remastered format (this week, Nevermind), I GET the need for a cleaned up sound or a deluxe package for a classic release. But there's a bit of a difference between albums released 20 years ago and being digitally remastered and this sort of thing. www.youtube.com/watch?v=cDDpKt4bCVsOooh, it looks a bit nicer. Fucking SOLD. I'm probably missing the point, and I get if it was a PS2 game, but really? Are we so starved for new games and new ideas that we're improving the graphics on a game and re-releasing it at full price? Am I wrong here?

Usually, they're $20 cheaper, but no you aren't wrong. They are doing this shit way too much. But it can be a cool thing for gamers to get another crack at a game that they somehow passed by last gen or revisit a favorite, especially if the rereleases come packaged with all of the DLC. I'd totally buy a Mass Effect Trilogy rerelease for that reason alone. Ironically, that seems the one series they don't plan on remastering. But as long as people are buying them, I guess there's plenty of reason to keep doing it. But it's not something I partake of with any regularity.
