www.ign.com/articles/2016/07/25/comic-con-2016-every-major-trailer-from-the-conventionWelp, DC seems to have won this round. The Luke Cage trailer was the very essence of badass and hyped for Defenders next year, but goddamn if those Wonder woman and Justice league trailers didn't look like the shit. Batfleck is still garbage, though. Also, dat Skull Island trailer was epic. Just read American Gods earlier this year and was thinking about what a great film it'd make. TV series: even better.

Well, I came in with the sole purpose of posting the Skull Island trailer, but Trashy beat me to it and brought extra goodies too. Show off. Skull Island, first. Hoo wee. Now that's what I'm talking about. Couple of interesting points - Kong has always been big, but here he is biiiiiiig. Like, original movie poster big when he was towering over buildings. And brought to you by the same team behind the recent Godzilla movie. Interesting.... I think we're all burned out with remakes, but really, I think this century may be time to revisit.. well.. that. As for the Justice League.. yeah, not feeling it. I've not seen Batman vs Superman yet, so that's really my first glimpse of Ben Affleck as Batman. Maybe I've been spoiled by the Arkham games, or maybe I've been playing Arkham Knight for too long but what a fucking awful Batman. He does not suit that role at all. And another Flash? Seriously? We've got a pretty damn successful TV Flash right now, so that's not part of the movie universe then? What a waste of time. Wonder Woman looks decent, though. But Justice League isn't ticking any of my boxes right now.

They have upsized Kong with the deliberate notion of pitting him against Godzilla in 2020, after the Godzilla sequel. Not too hyped considering these things rarely work. I'd rather have a quality Godzilla or Kong movie rather than a mediocre mash-up. And yeah, I dunno why DC wouldn't want to use their TV dominance as a launchpad to try and catch up with Marvel at the cinemas. I would guess that big movie success would drive up the worth of the TV actors and make the shows financially unsustainable. Fuck show business.
