When it comes to cover versions, they usually follow a formula; Up and coming act cover classic act/song. People act accordingly, either love it or wish hot fiery death on it. This is a little bit different. This is an established, veteran act, with some iconic, world famous hit songs covering a far lesser known (although admittedly pretty well established in their own right) band, and it's not even one of their signature songs. Mystery over; the band being covered? Long term Fortress favourites Ash. The one doing the covering? 80's icon and electro veteran Annie Lennox, who's carved a pretty succesful solo career away from the Eurythmics and decided to release her dream-pop cover of Ash's "Shining Light", and it's like every cover version should be; vastly different to the original and really kinda great. Take a listen. www.youtube.com/watch?v=OfJeQDkz4JUFor reference sakes, here's the original. www.youtube.com/watch?v=SZGcNx8nV8USo.. Annie.. is she OK?

Man, the old girl can still sing. Very interesting choice for a cover too. Not crazy about it personally, but it's good.
