It's not even December yet and already doom-mongers are saying 2017 is going to see some high-profile movie flops. In the same way a lot of big named movies tanked this year, 2017 is going to be the same, but it seems to me down to fatigue more than anything else. People only have so much money, and so much time, and next year is looking STACKED when it comes to movies. Check this out. www.movieinsider.com/movies/-/2017Shiiiiiit. That's a lot of movies. Probably no more than normal, but I can't remember a time when there was this high a number of BIG movies all fighting for our money. What's your pick of the bunch here?

"I Am Not Your Negro" seems promising. No to Rings, no to John Wick (first movie pretty much did what there was to d with him), Kong is looking lamer the more of it they show, Ghost in the Shell is being marketed as a sc-fi action porno and will never live up to the original, Wonder Woman looks like she's trying too hard to be Captain America, Pirates can fuck right off, and the action remake of the action remake of The Mummy too. Dark Tower will never work as a film, Blade Runner does not and never did need a sequel, It's pretty much just Guardians, Thor, Alien (fingers crossed), Spidey, and Star Wars for me, thank you.

Captaiiiiiin Buzzzzzzzkiilllll.
The Dark Tower movie I'm genuinely curious about, and Mrs C is obsessed with King so it's a definite go-see. Kong I'm.. I dunno, in two minds. I enjoyed the Peter Jackson version the first time I saw it (and, maybe tellingly, I've never watched it again, although I loved the PS2 game), but I'm interested in this take. He's clearly much, much bigger than he's ever been (I can't imagine this Kong climbing any building, he could maybe use it them as toothpicks), and they're clearly setting up Kong vs Godzilla which, come on, that'll be a blast.
Mrs C is more invested in Lego Batman than any of the actual Batman movies, so we'll definitely be seeing that. The Marvel movies are instant must-sees, the Planet of the Apes movies have been fantastic so that's definitely on the cards, the new Cloverfield movie should be a cinema view (although, weirdly, I think the claustrophobic tension of 10 Cloverfield Lane worked better at home), the big screen adaptation of IT is essential, then at the end of the year is the other new Star Wars movie. And I've probably missed a few.
It means there's a bunch of films that I'd probably have liked to see that I'll probably pass on (Friday the 13th, Justice League, Wonder Woman, World War Z2) and.. gahh. Too many movies.
