Maybe I've been spoiled over the last few months, but I can't help but be kinda disappointed with this month's line-up.
To be fair, I've only played two of them, and they were "switch on, see what they're like, switch off" first impressions, and usually I could go back to these things. But I've got more games than I know what to do with right now, so if you're not an instant hit you're pretty much doomed. That's just the way it is.
Last month I loved "The Deadly Tower of Monsters" and I think I got close to completing it until I got to a bit where I just didn't know where to go or what to do, and spent about an hour just running around in a circle. "Letter Quest Remastered" has been a bit of a Godsend this week, a fairly simple but addictive word puzzle game that, because it totally helped take Mrs C's mind off our sick cat, we both played to death until we completed all of it, trophies and all.
This month?
Tiny Troopers Coin Ops
The first one I tried, and on first glance it's like one of those "send your troops to war, protect your base" games more suited to mobile. Cutesy poo graphics and sound effects and.. bleh. Pass.
Colour Guardians
Another game that seemed more suited to a mobile, it's basically one of those constant "running" 2-D games where you have to press the correct button to match the colour you pass by. I usually love platformers and it does look very nice but there was nothing here to make me want to come back any time soon.
Aaand that's it so far from me.
There's a few others that could be great, but I've had zero chance to play them yet. "Stories the Path of Destinies" and "Invisible Inc" are saved on my system but have yet to be played. Anyone know if they're worth a look?
