Admittedly this "12 weeks" is probably the longest in the history of man, but.. you know. Cat problems. Small update on that, he's doing much better, but we've had to put a cone round his head again in case he bites the stitches where his tail used to be. If he bites or scratches that bit and it gets affected it could affect his spine, so we have to put him in a part of the room and watch him all day. It makes creating content on here almost impossible.
Onwards and upwards, though, and this weeks song is a REAL gamble. I'm almost certain Trashcanman will hate it, but then.. maybe he won't? I dunno. Have I really sold it enough yet?
So, here's the thing. I first heard this on the radio, and I.. didn't hate it. It kind of intrigued me, and the second time I heard it (it was commercial radio, so it was about twenty minutes later) I liked it a little bit more. I bought it recently and now I kind of love it.
So this is Desiigner.
I'm not sure how well known this week's track (Panda) is, although a quick Wikipedia search shows it did all kinds of business. It didn't first time around, but once it caught the attention of everyone's favourite hip-hop maniac Kanye West, who heavily sampled it for his album (and also appears in this video) the song "blew up", as the kids probably don't say anymore.
Hands up admission - I have no fucking IDEA what Desiigner is saying in this. He could be speaking Klingon for all I know. I hear something about "broads in Atlanta", and maybe something about "hope you killers understand", but that's pretty much it, and despite repeated listens I'm still completely in the dark. I am so darned white at times.
Still, it sounds menacing and cool and a million miles away from the kind of polished pop rap idiots like Flo Rida and Pitbull are polluting the charts with. Not sure what an actual album would be like from this guy, but Panda is a hit in my book.
