So I don't follow UFC, and I didn't see last night's fight (I blinked, I guess), but, well, this was all over my Facebook feed today. I mean.. I don't even... wow. So, that was Ronda's big comeback fight, and she was, to be fair, annihilated. Last year THE big buzz around Ronda (in my circles anyway) was whether she was going to sign with WWE or not. She appeared at Wrestlemania, jumped in the ring and threw Stephanie McMahon on her ass. Apparently she was training in the ring with the goals of making it in WWE, but take that with a pinch of salt. So, what do you think? Is there ANY coming back from that? Can Ronda still go? Or should she take the hint, get in WWE and be treated like an all-conquering super being and, you know, not really get hit too much?

She's done, son. She's done. Since cutting the cable cord I can't really watch the UFC anymore and I've stopped following it, but I did hear about this. I'm surprised she came back at all, but after this she will not be back. Rousey is one of those people who has all of the talent in the fucking world, but is so mentally fragile that the instant things stop going her way, she can't deal. I mean, she lost ONCE. ONCE after absolutely destroying every champion and challenger at her weight almost effortlessly and she responded by leaving for over a year, crying in public, gaining a hundred pounds, going on talk shows and talking about how she wanted to kill herself, having her sister take to Twitter to complain that people on the internet were being mean about her after years of acting like a massive bully and arrogant brat herself and disrespecting people left and right. As they say, be careful how you treat people on the way up because you might meet them again on the way down. I'm genuinely disappointed because although she's a shit person, she was awesome to watch and her achievements were really inspiring to a lot of women. I hate to see the second bonafide female MMA star go the way the first one did (albeit much less gracefully since Gina Carano was always a peach). It makes women look bad when the most visible stars of the sport fall to pieces the first time they lose while the men lose and come back over and over out of sheer determination and grit. After Rousey left her biggest rival, Meisha Tate, who is tough as nails, won the championship. That girl has taken horrific beatings and then gotten angry at the ref for not letting the other woman kill her and she threw herself at Rousey over and over again and never gave a fuck that she got wrecked every time. She even had Rousey break her fucking arm rather than tap. Now there's a true fighter. It's silly to think that you have to win every single fight. You only truly lose when you decide to stay down after you fall. And I'm pretty sure Ronda isn't getting back up from that. But on the other hand, this happened too so apparently last night wasn't a total loss. A new star is born?

Smooth moves. I remember watching a boxing match where Amir Khan did a sort of dance/shrug before punching a guy's lights out, and it was like something from the WWE.
See, I didn't know any of that about Ronda. I don't follow UFC or the fighters at all, so I didn't know about the crying on talkshows and all that, or that she was a bit of a prick either. That's disappointing. I suppose when you've built up that much hype about being undefeated and having the world blow smoke up your ass, when you finally lose it must just shatter your ego, especially if it's already fragile.
So if she does retire, is that just two losses to her name?

Yeah, she murdered everybody up until that point. Her coach is really pathetic though. A lot of peopl,-including Rousey's formidable mother- are blaming him for taking her away from her strengths and trying to make her a boxer. Dude's such a clown that this is the mural in his gym: That's him standing with Muhammad Ali. God, the cringe. How does she take somebody like that seriously? The audio from the fights she lost is hilarious too. After Rousey got smashed in the first round against Holly Holm, he told her "beautiful work!" He's the definition of a yes man and his fighters have all gone on massive skids after he started training them in recent years. Oh, and his complete advice during Rousey's latest loss is as follows: Maybe not quite on the same level as the Greatest?

"Float like a butterfly! That's it! Float! Float! Now sting! Sting! Like a bee! A bee! A....fuuuuuuuuuck."
What an asshole. One of the greatest female fighters (scratch that, one of the greatest fighters) listened to this chode?
