Is NOTHING sacred to these parasites?Quick note before I begin - I already reviewed this rubbish many moons ago, but it was pulled. And you know what? I reviewed another Disney product negatively and THAT was pulled too. Conspiracy? You better believe it. Anyway, on with the (original) review - let's see how long it lasts this time. Are we not allowed to give our opinions now or what? Ah, Disney. Where did it all go wrong? When did the once all mighty Mouse House turn into a wretched parody of itself, churning out detestable zero-charm superflops ("Home On The Range", anyone? Anyone? No, didn't think so) and barrel scraping, legacy tarnashing "sequels" to cherished classics. The decline has been a steady one, and its only going to get worse. It seems Disney will go to any lengths to try and scrape some money together now. After the domination of CGI animation (which, in my opinion, ISN'T a good thing), they've tried their luck with just about anything. Milo and Stich 2. Hercules 2. Tarzan 2. The list goes on, but to comission a sequel to the beloved 1940's classic Bambi just proves how desperate they really are. After the riseable "Home On The Range" tanked, Disney said they were never going to release another traditional animation movie for the cinema again, merely releasing straight to DVD suck-fests. Here's a heads up to Disney - there's nothing wrong with traditional animation. Your string of laughable failures has NOTHING to do with them not being CGI - it's because they're really, really BAD films. Toy Story did SO well, not because of how it looked, but because of what it was; funny, charming, exciting - everything your movies just. are. not. Disney really need to dig themselves out of a serious rut, and releasing vile garbage like this just isn't going to do it. I mean, really - Bambi II. Jesus.. Walt Disney's head must be melting the ice in the box it's kept in. Don't have ANYTHING to do with this, people.

ORIGINAL COMMENT FROM AMAZON.COM
I have a different opinion about this movie. Howcome after all these years walt disney decided to come up with a worthless sequel to bambie? I mean I grew up on bambie as a little kid and I bought the first one that was released on special edition dvd for my little sister which I find that truly sacred. But when I heard they had a sequel to bambie I said there is nothing sacred about this sequel I mean I never seen it and I had no interest in it. I think walt disney needs to leave the first bambie alone seriously. That movie came out in 1942 for god sakes.

"Jesus.. Walt Disney's head must be melting the ice in the box it's kept in."
No sir, I happen to run the control room containing Walt Disney AND Adolf Hitler's heads, and I can assure you that it never goes above a frosty -70 degrees. No amount of terrible sequelitis can melt ice that cold.
Unless Uwe Boll decided to make a sequel to Alone in the Dark. That would probably do it.

Ahhh, is THAT who you are? Excellent - I don't hand out those personal invites to just anyone you know, but after reading your reviews and comments I knew you'd be perfect here.
I take pride in the fact that, even though the Fortress numbers aren't through the roof, we have some of the smartest, funniest people on the net, with no "dood, u r a fag" idiots found anywhere except when we're mocking them.
Welcome to the fold.

Here's some other Straight To DVD "gems": Pocahontas II: Journey To A New World (1998) The Lion King II: Simba's Pride (1998) The Little Mermaid II: Return To The Sea (2000) Lady & The Tramp II: Scamps Adventure (2001) Peter Pan: Return To Never Land (2002) Cinderella II: Dreams Come True (2002) The Hunchback Of Notre Dame II (2002) Beauty & The Beast: The Enchanted Christmas (1997) Tarzan & Jane (2002) 101 Dalmatians II: Patch's London Adventure (2003) The Jungle Book 2 (2003) The Lion King 1½ (2004) Mulan II (2005) Tarzan II (2005) Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has A Glitch (2005) Slightly better news, though. jimhillmedia.com/blogs/jim_hill/archive/2007/06/21/say-so-long-to-direct-to-video-sequels-disneytoon-studios-tunes-out-sharon-morrill.aspxdetails how Disney's Straight To DVD branch has been shut down by John "Pixar" Lasseter. Here's the ones which have been pulled: The Aristocats 2 Chicken Little 2 The Tinkerbell Movie Disney Princess Enchanted Tales (featuring Aurora from Sleeping Beauty and Jasmine from Aladdin. Together) So it looks like Mr Pixar may agree with you, Curmudgeon, on the whole "doesn't need to be CG to be good".. Which, considering how he made his trade, is quite a bold approach... Toodles!

Well, hey - at least someone in "power" agrees with me. Good for him. Speaking of Tinkerbell, when I was in Florida I noticed loads of t-shirts and shit with this sort of thing on them.. So, uh - when did Tinkerbell become some kind of lolita fantasy? JUST the sort of thing J M Barrie had in mind, I'm sure. Man, I hate Disney.
