I suppose the whole giant monster fighting game thing has kind of run its course. I've enjoyed King of Monsters and Primal Rage and the many Godzilla games, but at some point you've pretty much done what you can do with that concept. That is, until you flip the script and play as the people. City Shrouded in Shadow appears to be a Cloverfield-style story where you create you own character and then attempt to survive a kaiju apocalypse. And there will be some familiar faces involved. Check it.
Yeah, so that's Gamera, Gaos, Ultraman/men, Batra, Ghidorah, Godzilla both Mecha and vanilla, and motherfucking Evangelion Unit One, among some other anime mecha I'm not familiar with among the cast. If this doesn't get released over here, I'm moving to Japan.

Shit, that looks fantastic, and something pretty damn unique as well (the closest I can think of is maybe the Scarecrow nightmare levels in the Batman games)
So are those official uses of all those different properties? They got Gamera, Godzilla, Ultraman..all in one game? Damn.
Sadly, I just can't see this getting an official release. Maybe I'm wrong, but this just screams "not for Western audiences."

I don’t know, man, we’re getting some pretty weird shit over here as Japanese culture gains popularity. Have to wait and see.
