First of all, if you've been wondering where the Hell I've been over the last week, the answer is - nowhere. I've been staring at my PC and my PS4 longingly but not allowed to touch them, like some Gambit/Rogue shit. I've been told I have tendinitis, basically RSI, so I've been told I can't type, write or play games. Which is good, because I'm off work, but bad in that I can't do anything. So this is strictly against doctor's orders. But hey, I care too much.
Anyway, one thing I can (sort of) do is go on Facebook on my phone, and someone shared a trailer that I originally thought was fake. I thought it was footage cribbed from about twenty other Dwayne Johnson action movies and spliced together with some monster movie. But no, turns out its real.
And when you think of video game licence's turned into movie's you'd like to see, you might think, I dunno.. the Last of Us? Uncharted? The Evil Within?
Nah dude, scratch that. What the people really want to see is a big screen adaptation of Rampage.

Now, hey, I wouldn't normally be against this (I fucking loved Rampage), but this just looks like every other generic monster movie where the beasts play a distinct second fiddle to the star (see also this year's The Mummy which, if recent reports are correct, has killed off an entire franchise before it even begun).
And as well as screwing with the story (it was people who mutated into monsters, not just animals who got bigger), this movie doesn't look like it's going to capture the tone of the game at all. Rampage was, essentially, a comedy game. Didn't the monsters turn into ballerina's and dance off screen when they died? I'm not saying THAT needs to happen in the movie, but some dumb-serious CGI action movie is not the way to go here.
And now Lizzie is a crocodile? I get they're trying to remove the obvious connotations to Godzilla (which Rampage clearly didn't), but really? A crocodile? Who roars?
Could this possibly be good?
