I have put this post off for a while, but we probably all saw it coming.

When I first started this thread, it was kept going by steady streams of views and comments from people who read my Amazon reviews. Obviously those reviews dried up because I just don't have the time anymore, and so too did the traffic those generated. And for quite some time now I've been keeping the site going with increasingly sparse posts, again due to time.

And so I'm going to have to be quite brutal here, because the spare time I do have I'm putting into writing a sitcom, or at least attempting to. And I can't have any distractions or "commitments", I gotta focus, you know?

So I won't say this is The End, because it might not be, but its definitely time for a long break while I try and save comedy as we know it.

In closing, all that's really left to say is thank you. From the infinite websites out there you can spend time on you chose this one, and you (especially Trashcanman) helped keep this place ticking along for a lot of years.

Again, this might not be the final post ever ever ever, but let's just think of it as a season break with the possibility of a new season in the future.

It's been a pleasure, man. How long have I been coming here for? Ten years? Something like that. When I started writing Amazon reviews, you were the first of dozens of "followers" to sign up and I responded by joining this board. As a result I've had great conversations and endless laughter, discovered amazing music I'd otherwise have never heard, sent and received treasures overseas through the mail, and always had something to look forward to. But as I've become acutely aware of this year, real life intervenes and busts up the best of parties. Best of luck to you in your comedic endeavors. I saw this when you posted it and didn't know what to say, Curmudgeon. I've always posted here in spurts (stifle the giggles and keep the immature jokes to yourself, people), and there's been stretches where I've disappeared for weeks or months at a time, but I always knew this was the place to come when I wanted the straight scoop on The Thing Everyone Is Talking About. You guys have saved me so much money at the movie theater, and I've picked up some really great music recommendations too. I never touched a Prince or Bowie record before the Fortress. And Trashcanman--I hate to admit this--I have a soft spot for Blink-182 now. I don't know why you put that evil on me, but it stuck.

What else can I say? I came for the reviews, and I stayed for the conversations. I'll be checking in here periodically, as always, to see how you oldsters are doing. I've also been pursuing some creative endeavors, and if they ever come to fruition I'll be sure to let the Good People of the Fortress know.
