 Sell yourselves, harlots.Even though The Fortress is one of a million websites, you can bet this is the only one with a thread title like THAT. So what's it about? Simple. This isn't a discussion thread, it's not an opinion poll and its not even a rant - this is an open invite for YOU, good people of this site, to share with the other Loyal Dwellers anything you're a part of on the internet (or out of it, if you have a link). See, in an effort to further the "community" aspect of The Fortress, I think it'd be cool if we had an open access to whatever else you lot get up to on the net - whether its your own Blogs, your own websites, your Myspace, your own reviews, your Youtube movies - whatever. That way we can learn more of what each other is about. Also, if anyone is willing, I'd like to put out an open invite to share e-mail addresses with each other, to help bridge that gap further. I can understand if you'd rather not put your e-mail address out on a site where any old weirdo can see it, so I'm gonna put mine here and you can e-mail me if you wish (I'm used to weirdo's writing to me - and I'm weirder than all of them). How did this come up? Well, I was actually scouring my Amazon account when I saw Trashcan Man's Amazon reviews (he's an Amazon friend - that's how he came to be here, fact fans), and I noticed something about his "Wish List" that I wanted to speak to him about - but I couldn't do it easily. And hell, that's just not RIGHT. So - I'll go first. You already know my site and my reviews (duh), but here's the other major things you can use if you wish. That's wierd, because I've gotten emails about my lists and reviews before, so I just figured the address was there on my page somewhere. Anyways, it's nickverboon@hotmail.com so feel free to drop a line if you've gt something to say and I'll try to get back to you. You know, that "calling" can be a pain in the ass sometimes. Part of me would love to go into Amazon and talk about stuff I actually LIKE, but then that would screw up the whole point of my being there. Sigh.

Bonjour! Or, erm, bonsoir depending on when you read this I suppose..
I'm afraid I've not got an Amazon page, so no contribution there..
For what it's worth, I'm still a VERY dedicated follower of the ZX Spectrum gaming scene, so I suppose you could say I'm involved in pointing out that shiny rendered 10 minute intros do not necessarily a good game make.
Just a small note of caution, chaps (and chappesses) - putting your email in full uncensored form on a blog isn't recommended, primarily because the spambots sift through blogs looking for the @ symbol, and harvesting anything they find.
A far better idea is to use a deliberate mistake blocker, which reasonably intelligent humans can manually correct.
For example: trashcanman could print something like
nickverboonDONOTTYPETHISWIBBLYBITIN@hotmail.com
Humans with IQs over 10 (so that rules out most of the pondlife The Curmudgeon discusses) should be able to clearly see not to type in the upper case bit.
It looks a bit weird, but it'll save you so much grief later on. Getting p0rn spam is alright, but some of the spam out there is just plain dull. Erm, I mean...

Leave it to someone called hackersanonymous to have such helpful info. Too bad my dumb ass got the message too late. Hopefully that useless hotmail spam filter will zap all of the spam I may get for that little indiscretion even though it does a crap job with the spam I'm already getting. I already told those guys, dammit, I DON'T NEED MALE ENHANCEMENT!!!! And who are these strange "horny housewives" that keep leaving me bizarrely impersonal messages suggesting I have scandalous liasons with them? Oh, the mysteries of the web...

The only thing I like about spam is some of the subject headers are particularly funny (though offensive).
My favourite to date is: "So much c** - bring a mop"... I've censored it here on the grounds of taste (I beg your pardon?! Ed).. Erm, I mean..
