As grim (and fairly insulting) a "special" as this is, its worth it to see Vince McMahon get pissed at the guy interviewing him. He tries to knock his papers out of his hand and for a split second I thought he was going to knock him out. Check this photo of him out (not least because it's hilarious and awesome) Yeah he's sixty, but he's a big dude. I sure as hell wouldn't mess with him. Anyway, the video deals with the deaths of wrestlers over the years, and asks questions about the rampant drug abuse in the business. Pretty interesting, even for non-wrestling fans. www.dailymotion.com/bookmarks/Top-Notch112/video/xt48c_hbo-real-sportsdeaths-in-wrestling_sport

Hi, I took a chance and watched the clip last night. I've gotta say up front that it reaffirms my appreciation for "Rowdy" Roddy Piper has a pro-wrestler. You know, when I was young I watched LOADS of this stuff back in the 80's during the heyday of Hulkamania, Andre The Giant, etc., etc. and out of ALL of them..."Rowdy" was my favorite. Don't get me wrong, I liked the others almost as much. Yet "Rowdy" just had that something extra that was AWESOME to behold. And let's not forget he went on to do one of my PERSONAL John Carpenter favorites: To hear Roddy Piper talk of those days was just like reading Hulk Hogan's autobiography; shining a light on the things I never knew about. It really helps take them out of that "character" they are in the ring and reminds us all that dammit, they're regular people with a set of problems we can't even PRETEND to understand without experiencing it for ourselves. Back to McMahon, I thought he handled himself quite well before and even after he had the little "smack the papers" attack. He was as honest and straightforward as he could be. If you read Hogan's autobiography, then you know exactly why he won't discuss further. I don't think he's afraid of any lawsuits because he clearly addmitted he could've handled some things differently concerning the drug usage, I just think it goes back to what Hogan discusses in his book. If you don't have access to the autobiography, those in the wrestling world basicially can be described by this famous movie quote: "First rule of FIGHT CLUB; you DON'T talk about FIGHT CLUB." Of course, Vince should try to remember in the future that even slapping the papers the guy was holding makes him look like an ass and almost takes away from his otherwise valid and worthwhile statements.

Yeah, I think he's spent a little too much time in his villainous, evil boss character from TV.
As for "They Live" - what a movie. How could so many wrong things in one film turn into something so damn RIGHT?

That's funny because I just came from defending "They Live" on someone's Amazon review (only 3 stars, are they crazy!?). The film damn near mirrors my very existence and Piper is made almost entirely out of awesome. ;D

I love the bit where she throws him out of the window and he takes a fall that would have given Superman concussion and he just.. rolls and runs away.
I remember on a wrestling board I go on, people were asking what signs they could take to Monday Night Raw. I said he should go with a few friends and carry white signs that said "Sleep" "Breed" and "Obey." That was voted the best..
