You know something pretty bad? I've only ever seen ONE film with Chartlton Heston in it (Planet of the Apes), yet I felt a real touch of sadness when I heard he'd died.
Maybe it was the shameless shafting he got from Michael Moore, or the fact that, as someone who reads movie magazines and takes more than a passing interest in those sorts of things, I knew how great he was.
A great actor, and a great article that pretty much sums it up.

Go get "The Ten Commandments", "Ben Hur", and "Soylent Green" now. Right now. "Omega Man" was cool if you put the awesomeness of the book it's based on ("I am Legend") out of your mind. Heston jumping cars on a motorcycle with a blaxpoitation heroine on the back and hordes of molotov-toting mutant religious fanatics on his tail? Count me in. "Look at the pictures, Mr. Heston. LOOOOOOOK at them! JUUUUST LOOOOOOK!!!! MR HEEESSSSSTOOOONNNNN!! JUST LOOOOOOKK! [sniffles]" Fuck Michael Moore.

The others, no problem, but I really can't see me sitting through the Ten Commandments. Ever. Good actor or not, I'm not watching some 8 hour bible film. Funk dat.
As for Moore, I really did like Bowling for Columbine, but I thought coming into the guys house and then springing on him like that was pretty crass.

Moore means well, but he just cannot help himself. He's always got to grandstand and ruin his films by going to far and making an ass out of himself, losing all credibility in the process.
