You know, there hasn't been a game yet that's made me really WANT a PS3. Until now. Street Fighter IV. I've seen countless semi-sequels and continuity raping tie-ins with pretty much every franchise in the world (did I really want to see Ryu fighting Megaman?) but this .. well, this looks something very special. It's not 2-D. But then, it's not 3-D. It's 2-D.5. And what that means is it looks like you're playing a comic book. Check it out and see for yourself www.streetfighter.com/flash/Good GOD that looks incredible. If it plays as well as it looks, it could well mean The Curmudgeon will have to move his Wii aside for the time being..

Ryu v Ken. Hope Ryu whoops his ass.
I used to love playing Street Fighter with my boys and beating them soundly (competitive, moi?), until they learned the tricks and then started trouncing me. Still enjoyed playing it, though. Then along came X-box 360 and the old PS2 doesn't get much of a look-in these days.
I'm getting pretty good on Guitar Hero, though - on "easy" mode, obviously.
This version does look good and I'll do my very best to ensure my boys don't see it.

It looks EXACTLY like SF2. Just better graphics. I'm not sold on this as a full-priced game; they need to show me something more than nostalgia if they're charging me $60 for a SNES game with revamped graphics. We shall see. Get the 360, C. Same games plus many many more, same graphics, cheaper price. Plus I'll get to beat the hell out of you online. Not sold. Here: youtube.com/watch?v=qyfc7f0Z3wULove that game.

My son's just been out and bought Rock Band for the 360. I've just been drumming to "Gimme Shelter" - easy mode of course. ;D
I'm no good at this review business, but I absolutely loved it. It's not like playing a traditional game, it's just...... well, it's just really good fun.

I'm glad I watched that full trailer Trashy, because it filled me with rage when I first started watching. Jeez, would an original idea kill these dicks?
But no - that looks like a lot of fun. Using a lawn mower ("Brain Dead" did it first, mind) on zombies just looks like the best damn thing ever.
As for Street Fighter II - yeah it looks similar but I really, REALLY want it.

"Dead Rising" is extremely original....for a video game. It composites pretty much every zombie film worth mentioning into a shopping mall and gives you a set amount of time to do wahtever the hell you want. Save innocents? Why not? Battle psychopaths? Yay! Take creatively graded photos for more experience points? Sweet. Or just hole up in the knife shop and go through the entire katana and broadsword inventory bisecting the undead hordes. Or go find a car and plow through the underground tunnels jam-packed with dead meat. Awesome. Then there'e the toy shop complete with fake light sabers and nerf guns. Fun, fun, FUN!!!
Rock Band rules. I'll see about SF4. Fighting games have come a very long way and after DOA4 I'm not sure I can go back to 2D. It'd be like playng GTA2 again. I'll await the release and reviews to make my decision.
