The only thing that spoils that Saw trailer is the voice-over. It just screams "dork in bedroom."

Boooo - it's the remake.
You know, I've never seen the remake (nor do I wish to) but even with the comedy music and all, it looks absolutley abysmal. I've always said this, but when Nicholas Cage is in a bad movie he comes across as one of the worst actors in the world. When he's in a good film he's passable - at best.

The only way to watch this movie is to set aside ANY thoughts of the original. It slowly works, despite the missteps that occur, so that at least says volumes of the original storyline. It also needs the original ending...which doesn't involve new future potential "wicker men". Hell...it's more eerie with that original ending rather than the shit "twist" ending. It's still flawed, but it'd be easy to catch this on a weekend TV broadcast and not feel guilty about it.

So is Nicholas Cage as appalling in it as he looks to be here?

"Silence of the Lambs": so romantic! www.youtube.com/watch?v=bCxF6idjqnk&feature=relatedAre you kidding, Wolfman? That remake was awful by any standard of filmmaking. And the added misogynistic message didn't help either. Riiiiiight, all women hate men and are secretly building a pagan society to do away with us. Scaaaaary. And beeeees. Also scary. Oh, wait, no they're not! Then again I was the kid out throwing rocks at their hives so maybe it's just lost on me. If they want to make that kind of shit, fine, but they should be burned alive themselves for putting the name of a true classic on it.
