Well, before The Dark Knight, obviously. But you can buy both. It's Iron Man, of course. With a 2 disc set, it boasts some interesting sounding special features (I always love the "origins" of the character docs). And the film being awesome doesn't hurt either. Full details, specs and artwork here.. www.comicbookmovie.com/news/articles/4928.aspYou know you want it. Get in line.

As always I'm worried about some better edition with extra footage coming out in a year. Especially with the rumored director's cut of "The Dark Knight" being unconfirmed.

I can't see them having another Iron Man DVD out after the fairly definitive sounding "Ultimate Edition", and I can't imagine any extras on there that they haven't included yet. Nothing I would double dip for anyway. Good point on TDK, though. I can certainly see a 3 disc collectors set coming out for that one, so I would hold off on any impulse purchases. But then, the way the DVD market is, you could hold off forever waiting on Extended, 3 disc, collectors discs. And then there's Blu-Ray, of course. Anyway, speaking of double dipping, something here might interest you Trashy. I know you've already bought Diary of the Dead, but I don't know which version it is you got. I got this through the post today.. www.play.com/DVD/DVD/4-/5409448/Diary-Of-The-Dead-Limited-Edition-Steel-Tin/Product.htmlThe picture there doesn't really do it justice. Its a tin in a graphic novel style digipack thing. Very, VERY nice. And for Romero nuts, pretty much essential.

Very, very cool. I wouldn't double-dip for it, though. Especially with an American dollar being worth about .00001 pounds right now or whatever. I'll have a hard time with TDK. I really want to watch it again (and again, and again) and would hate to have the DC never come out like "House of 1000 Corpses" or "Kill Bill".

The only possible double-dipping I can see them doing for Iron Man would be when Iron Man 2 hits theaters in about two years time. Like when Sony released Spider-Man on DVD in 2002, they gave it a very thorough 2-disc treatment with plenty of hours worth of special features. It had big making of the film featurettes, tons of coverage of the film's premiere and press attention, "history of the character" bits, and more trailers and TV spots than you could shake a tree branch at. Then when Spider-Man 2 neared release in 2004, Sony repackaged their 2-disc special edition of Spider-Man in a box with another disc of more extras crammed in there. Very sloppy, very rushed, and from what I hear the extras on that third disc weren't anything special anyway. I've still got the 2-disc DVD that I got in 2002 sitting on my shelf and I don't regret it at all.
On the other hand, Spider-Man 2 had the same extensive 2-disc treatment upon its initial release, and then when the third flick drew near Sony pulled a fast one and re-released it in an extended cut, but WITHOUT almost all of the special features from the initial release. So if there is an extended cut of Iron Man to be had, I can see them possibly double-dipping like that. The question is: do we really need an extended cut of Iron Man? I saw this flick in theaters three times and I think it's damn near as close to perfect for a lighthearted superhero adventure as you can get. I'll be grabbing this 2-disc Ultimate Edition of Iron Man by the end of the year.

Special packaging? Pass. The disc content is all I care about. Hell, I'd buy the 2-discer in a blank paper slipsleeve if it came at a cheaper price.

Speaking of must have DVDs, here's the cover art for Incredible Hulk.. No arguments here about the 3 disc treatment, but I gotta say I'm not loving the artwork. I understand they're going for the "comic book" look treatment, and all they needed here was "HULK vs ABOMINATION - NUFF SAID!" and they'd be done, but I was really hoping for a cover that had Bruce Banner walking in Hulk's enormous shadow. But hey, like Benjamin just said - it's all about the content. And I loved me some Hulk, and 3 discs sounds peachy to me.

Yeah, I don't know what they were thinking with that horrendous cover, considering what a beautiful movie poster they could have used instead.
Also, watch out: the third disc in the set is just a useless digital copy of the film and nothing more. For all intents and purposes, this is a 2-disc special edition of The Incredible Hulk, and they're probably going to charge some ridiculous 3-disc price for it.

Really? Shit, I didn't know that. What a sucker punch that is. A digital copy? What the fuck?
I thought it was the same deal as the 3 disc version of Ang Lee's Hulk. Guess not.
Thanks for the heads up, Benjamin. I'm still going to buy it, horrendous cover and crappy, pointless extra disc aside, but at least I know what I'm actually buying now.

Call me cheesy, but I love that cover. Digital copy? Pfft. What a bunch of shit. If I want a digital copy of a movie I already bought, I'll hit up the Pirate Bay.

Yeah, but come on Trashy - what would you rather? That, or this.. Not only is it a better cover for me, but it actually harks back to the original TV show that the movie was so obviously based on (more than the comic book, anyway).

Either one works for me. The poster one is artisticlly superior, of course.

Well, I choose to believe someone in power reads this site. Check out the artwork for the Play.com exclusive cover.. Take out the awful, beyond generic "a monster of a movie" (almost as bad and predictable as seeing any vampire film being labelled "fangtastic") tagline and that cover is dripping in Win Sauce.
