(For any UK Dwellers not in the know, Tivo is basically the same idea as our Sky+)
I honestly cannot imagine not having Sky+ in my life. The whole "oh shit, I forgot to tape.." is history. Remembering when something is on, staying in because something is on, missing something else because something else is on the other channel - all a thing of the past.
Wrestling aside, I pretty much have no idea when any program I watch is on TV anymore (Monday Night Raw and Friday Night Smackdown are a bit of a giveaway). I just turn on the Sky+ and see what's waiting for me. And it doesn't even cost anything to have. It's superb.
I used to watch US shows talking about Tivo and had no idea what they were on about. Is it a big deal over there? Or is it a niche market? Sky+ is popular, but there's still loads of people who have no idea what it actually is, and its frustrating trying to tell them how great the whole thing actually is.
So are there any Dwellers still to be converted?

I'm with you. My DVR is right up there with my internet connection ans netflix account as the most important forces for entertainment in my life. I'd have to wait for DVD's of every show if i didn't have it. Imagine trying to follow "Lost" or "Heroes" if you could only catch it every now and then. I can skip the wretched advertisements and test-drive shows without having to clear my schedule or give up an established show to check it out. Yet another of mankind's greatest inventions.

Totally off topic I know, but - who's that in your avatar, Trashy?

Randall Flagg from Marvel comic's freshly minted monthly adaptation of "The Stand". No Trashcan Man just yet, but if I can find a cool pic of him in the future, it may replace the one I'm currently using. My online comic vendor sent me an advance artbook from the series a while back and he looks pretty fucked up.
