Now THIS is something else. Its deeply irritating that the Marvel version of this game never took off (I would have much preffered running around town being chased by the Hulk/Spidey/Doc Strange etc), but this still looks 10 different kinds of amazing. Ignore the crap-tastic graphics for now (I assume they're still in the early stages when this vid was made) and just... imagine.. the possibilities. www.gametrailers.com/player/37134.htmlSo what would your character be called? And would they be a hero or villain? (I don't think I need to tell you my answers for those questions..)

The Marvel idea was amazing! Each hero and villain was going to be played by a different person so you'd have a number of full-on Marvel universes ongoing with the fans in control. Heaven! but I always had a feeling it wouldn't fly. Think of the logistics a minute. Millions of players, 90% of them expecting to play as The Hulk, Wolverine, Spider-Man or another big name hero or villain all playing that game. The number of servers would have to be staggering considering there aren't more than a few hundred workable characters and many of those wouldn't be too much fin to play as. People aren't going to pay $60 plus a monthly fee of $15 or whatever to play as fucking Big Bertha or Stilt-Man. The idea just wouldn't work, as wonderful as it is.
I typically play a heroic villain or villainous hero in games where I have control over such things. Deadpool is my role model, after all. in "Oblivion" I went around besting evil as a vampire ninja who supported himself by robbing every house of any valuables and then feasting on their blood as they slept until I eventually took over the Thieves Guild. Then I joined the Assassins Guild. Fun times. I don't know for DC Universe. I'd hate to have to rough up Black Canary, but I'd love to smack Aquaman. I'd HAVE to work with The Joker, but I'd really want to hang out in the Batcave too. I want anarchy, damn it! The only answer would be multiple characters.
I'm bad with names. Trashcan-Man would work, no? I'd have no idea what powers to go for until I saw them before me, but fire would need to be heavily involved if I used my online moniker. What powers are on your list?
MMO's are something I'll never be able to get into. Maybe if I'd never gotten married and I didn't have a dozen other hobbies to pursue I'd give it a try, but I've neither the time nor the $$$ in this life.

I wasn't sure why the Marvel idea fell through - that makes a lot of sense though, Trashy. It would never have worked. You would basically be running around a town with this sight everyday.. But you can bet your fucking ass I would want to play as Stilt-Man. As for my powers.. I dunno.. nothing fancy. Enormously strong, lazer blasts from my hands and just a hint of megalomania. That would do me. I've never played any of these sorts of games before. What exactly do you DO in them? Do you just walk around a virtual universe talking to other characters or are there actual missions and levels etc?

I've never played them, but the idea is that there are thousands or even millions of players in an online world all banding together or fighting each other and undertaking quests made for them by the game makers. These games have their own economies, cities, marketplaces, hangouts and everything. It's literally a virtual world. People lose their jobs, families, and homes over this shit it's so addicting. One guy in Korea killed another guy over a sword that he lent him in the game which he then sold. Craziness! I love online gaming, but I don't make them my entire social life. A simple Halo beatdown followed by some rude remarks is good enough for me. This 24-7 stuff just isn't me in this lifetime. Maybe if I get a divorce and win the lottery or something.
