You may or may not remember, but about six months ago two women from another forum joined this place and hung around for a little while, before presumably becoming bored with the whole Boys and Their Toys mentality going on around here.
Anyway, I recently went back to that place after seeing how dead the whole site was. I began a three week "campaign" hinting at a mysterious new visitor to the place, saying things like Save_Us_IHM (borrowed from a cryptic, awesome series of wrestling promo's).
Anyway, background info aside, I decided to post some of the exact same threads that are on here to see what the difference would be in terms of response. Just to see the difference in mindset and overall attitude between everyday dullards on message boards and the Saviours of the Internet.
The first one so far? The thread about posers in rock t-shirts. Now, while everyone on here agreed that it was annoying and stupid and insulting, giving personal anecdotes about seeing fakers in their own favourite shirts, the response was quite different on that other board (where, it has to be said, I am a complete dick).

If you can't be bothered to read it all (and it is a tedious read, I must admit) - basically, I'm a fascist and a prick for suggesting such a thing. That, if "you like the shirt", what does it matter if you like the band? And that I should get a life.
So what does that say about the faithful few who attend THIS website? Why do WE have that same mentality which is vastly different from people doing the exact same thing as us (i.e - posting on a message board)?
Interesting...
