Anyone pick up the new album besides me? It sounds just like all the others. Which is, of course, a good thing. How about tickets? I tried to get 2. And failed.

Not my bag, but the entire UK seems to have fallen in love with them all over again. Well, the music press anyway. They're on the front of every music mag and the album is getting rave reviews. Even better, I think the album will be number 1 this week, beating the last years X Factor drone's attempt.

They're coming to Charlotte, North Carolina on December 18th, which is three hours away from me. Tickets were over $90 for just the back row last time I checked, and by now I wouldn't be surprised if they were sold out.

Not The Curmudgeon's bag? Man, AC/DC is EVERYONE's bag! It's a simple formula: do you like rock? If yes, you like AC/DC. I won;t be picking up the album because it's going to essentially be the same songs they've been playing since the 70's. It'll rock, but after hearing it all before, I can't justify buying another soundalike CD when there's so much creativity out there. And this exclusivity deal with Wal Mart is a bad fucking precedent. Really bad. It's bad enough radio payola scams dictates what music most people buy, but now all music fans are going to be told where they have to buy it from too.

But Trashy....you've got me and in Europe FAIL-MART doesn't have exclusive rights! So, there IS a way around it if you want.... I picked up the LE book-like packaging. This is TRULY AC/DC's best since BACK IN BLACK. It's more solid all around, but there are points you can hear the end of the band coming down. There's one song, ANYTHING GOES, that sounds like John Cougar Mellancamp playing AC/DC with Brian on vocals. I LOVE AC/DC out of all the music I collect, and they just barely nudge out Prince (sorry, but I was a rocker before I got the funk) in my "Best of all" book. They've been doing this for damn near 35 years now and you've gotta respect that. Since BACK IN BLACK the quality of the albums were up and down all the way until THE RAZOR'S EDGE. The moment that Angus and Malcolm took over writing the lyrics...the quality has been tepid at best. I find it oddly strange that Brian is credited in many interviews as having helped write the lyrics on BLACK ICE but if you look in the album sleeve all the songs are credited to Angus and Malcolm. I would assume he did cleanup and those would probably be on the songs that I can easily remember the lyrics to. Oh, and The Curmudgeon? If they used BACK IN BLACK for IRON MAN, you can bet they'll be using the song WAR MACHINE in IRON MAN 2.... MARK MY WORDS!

Shee-it, and I was hoping KISS' song was getting play on that action.
But current AC/DC will surely trump 80s-era KISS.
I thought "Ballbreaker" and "Razor's edge" were both pretty awesome albums.
