Ricky Gervais was always going to struggle to capture the sheer fantatical following and praise the Office got, but he certainly made a decent effort with Extras. Not as good as the Office, admittedly, but repeated viewings actually improve episodes, and ironically the worst parts are the celebrity cameo's because they're TOO far-fetched when the rest of the show is as true-life as sitcoms NOT called The Office get. Anyway, for anyone who's interested in seeing this show, there's no major spoilers contained in it, but it does sort of hint at what happens to the main characters. So if you do want to watch it one day, click away from here. Basically, Ricky gives an all too accurate and damning rant about the state of our Celebrity Culture. Surrounded by a bunch of (genuine) washed up UK "stars" and media obsessed morons in the Big Brother house, Andy Millman tells it like it is. This is the American version of this sketch, with certain names edited for US audiences (who the fuck is Ryan Seacrest?!) but it still makes me want to punch the sky in victory at the fact that someone finally says what everyone here thinks. Amazing scene. uk.youtube.com/watch?v=EQAr_AjZt-E

Seacrest is the douchebag host of American Idol and is now being positioned as the next Dick Clark. He already has a star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame. Unforgivable.
Gervais is a funny bastard. You can attend his stand-up gigs in Grand Theft Auto 4.
