In Egypt, there was a pub quiz style game where you had to name various TV themes. And, me being me, instead of trying frantically to recognise the Desperate Housewives theme tune, it got me thinking of writing this thread for the Fortress. Is that a good or bad thing? So what do YOU think is the greatest theme tune ever? The most iconic, easily recognisable, hummable, enjoyable theme song? There haven't been any good ones with recent TV shows (hell, Lost and Heroes don't even have one), and I think the very best are from American shows of the 60s. Here's some for your consideration.. uk.youtube.com/watch?v=xL_9zdu4iVw&feature=related(Note: man, how fucking scary did Gomez look here?) uk.youtube.com/watch?v=NOUPjEHYFewuk.youtube.com/watch?v=NzlG28B-R8YMoving away from the 60s, but still from the US (and gotta say, my personal favourite because it STILL sounds cool) uk.youtube.com/watch?v=uKRQpkjXIrEand one from the UK.. uk.youtube.com/watch?v=BwJtYmNpINI&feature=relatedToo many greats to mention, but what do YOU think is the greatest of all time? One of these, or..?

Folks, I very rarely edit other people's threads (in fact.. I think this may well be the first) but I thought I'd better on this occassion. If we can find the intro on, say, Youtube can we put it up here for everyone to hear?
I mean, everyone knows the Twilight Zone tune, but I'll put my hands up and admit I'd never heard the theme to The Fugitive (never even seen an episode) or the Untouchables (ditto), and I'd never even HEARD of Man in a Suitcase. Hey, that's why we're here folks - to learn.

Thanks for that Cur, I appreciate your intervention. I did try and post one of my fave music vids off YouTube a little while back, but gave up after a bit - either that or the screen was getting caved by a Chelsea boot. 'Man in a Suitcase' was a classy series with Richard Bradford as an ex-CIA agent wrongly accused of some heinous skulduggery, going from one glamorous world location to another, solving people's problems for money. One week he's in Monte Carlo then Paris then Rio etc, but of course in reality he's in Elstree the whole time, with travelogue films playing behind him. Bradford puts a new spin on miserablism, and an interview on the dvd set reveals him to be just as belligerent in real life as his character was in the series. 'The Saint' had a few different theme's but you got the one I meant, and did you notice the director of that 'Prisoner' episode - Don Chaffey? He was the same guy who directed 'One Million Years BC' and is therefore at least partly responsible for the most iconic image in movie history. You KNOW the one I mean, and if you can find it, you're quite welcome to edit my posts again! Not only am I shite at technology, but a total statto as well!! Laters..
