Quite easily the BIGGEST comedy in the UK (and by biggest I don't mean cosy Saturday night family viewing figures of 12 million, I mean obsessive, rabid fanbase) is the Mighty Boosh. What started off as some little show has turned into an absolute phenomenon - they've appeared on the front cover of NME three times and there are Mighty Boosh music FESTIVALS over here), and its really not hard to see why. Similar to Flight of the Conchordes (two guys, fashion icon Vince Noir and Jazz bore Howard Moon, with songs throughout the program), the difference here is the absurd, often surreal nature of the show itself. Oh, and Fortress hero Matt Berry is the main villain in series one. For all its eccentricities, its actually a knowingly old fashioned format, with traditional sitcom settings that change with every series without much explanation (series one - zoo. Series two - flat. Series three - shop) but its the quirky humour and almost home-made props and crappy special effects that make the show charming. Oh, and its funny. Very, very funny. I'm going to see them live in a few weeks time, so I'm busy rewatching the series' to get me back into Boosh mode. Here's a sample.. uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Ig2NtHY2g9kuk.youtube.com/watch?v=2DYsDejinh0uk.youtube.com/watch?v=uIe6fOAtqokLike I said with Conchordes, this could be on some TV network schedule somewhere (its a BBC show, so BBC America or something.. maybe) but it is certainly worth a look. Check it out.

The first two vids don't play. Looks pretty cool and that finale was genius; I'll keep an eye out for it.
