Oh-oh. uk.news.launch.yahoo.com/dyna/article.html?a=/081120/340/iaxn2.html&e=l_news_dmI immediately called bullshit upon reading this. I just can't see Prince being against gay marriage. He was OBVIOUSLY saying what he thought the democrats would say, and some idiot journalist has tried to create a media storm out of it. Fuck, no wonder Prince hardly gives interviews. I read on another site (and this I DO believe, given the interviewee), that no tape recorders were allowed throughout the interview, so basically the reporter was paraphrasing and going by memory of what the conversation actually was. I really, really hope this doesn't become a big deal.

Well, I just found this so..
PRINCE NEW YORKER ARTICLE FULL OF MISQUOTES!!!! Posted in Celebrity News on November 17th, 2008 by drfunkenberry We were just sent this:
Prince did an interview with the New Yorker recently and it is CHOCK full of misquotes!!
The reporter was not allowed to use a tape recorder, and so paraphrased nearly everything.
We are told the parts qbout religion are especially misquoted.
Prince never said “God came to earth and saw people sticking it wherever and doing it with whatever and he just cleared it it out. He was like “enough”. Those are the WRITERS words, not Prince’s.
Next time, there will be a tape recorder. (Eye roll)
We want to thank Prince’s people for clearing that up.-Dr.FB
Hmmm. Well.. works for me.

Well, Jehovah's Witnesses are a Christian lot more or less and the sheep who listen to their preachers are always going to be against gay marriage in word at least. This is not a big deal. However, it is not for us to legislate God's Word -or more realistically, the opinions of bigot preachers- into law. In America, we have a Bill of Rights and in it the very first amendment declares that "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof". That means that we don't give a shit what your beliefs are, but we will not make a law that forces them on other people. That's exactly what California's Prop 8 is. There is no argument. Every opponent of gay marriage says the exact same thing: "Bible, Bible, Bible, God, God, God, Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve, blah, blah, blah". Well if outlawing gay marriage is not respecting establishment of religion, what the hell is?
