"I Can't Get Behind That" has been a favourite on my iPod for a long time now. The album it comes from (Has Been) is an under rated gem, and Shatner doesn't just go for easy comedy, either (not that this song could be described as that). There's a few more serious, reflective songs on there too.
Shatner's biggest disappointment in life was always his inability to sing. I reckon he does a fine job as it is.
"I can't stand these so called singers, who can't carry a tune and get paid for talking. How easy it that? Well, maybe I could get behind that."
Brilliant.

A few years ago I watched a Henry Rollins DVD where he described recording this song. I somehow forgot about it until just now and thought, I've got to check that out! Then I thought "others must know!" Here's a clip of the DVD I mentioned if you're interested.
