Yeah ok.. not quite. But who knows? This could actually be better than the film. The original 12 part graphic novel "brought to life" on a 2 disc DVD. Here's the blurb.. Watched any great books lately? Now you can. The most celebrated graphic novel of all time that broke the conventional mold continues to break new ground WATCHMEN illustrator Dave Gibbons oversees this digital version of the graphic novel that adds limited motion, voice and sound to the books strikingly drawn panels. All 12 chapters of the story are here nearly 5 hours spanning everything from the mysterious demise of the Comedian to the crisscrossed destinies of loosely allied superheroes to their fateful impact on the world. Be in the know. Be watching. With Watchmen: The Complete Motion Comic.Dunno how they're gonna pull that off exactly, (a comic book with voice overs and sound effects maybe?) but it certainly sounds interesting.

They've been doing that lately with comics. I think there's such a thing on the 3-disc DVD of "The Incredible Hulk". They pretty much show the art and have full character voiceover with very limited animation. Pretty cool, but I'd just as soon read the comic.

Oh, totally - but it's still a pretty neat idea. I remember being tempted a while back with a Spider-Man CD-Rom that had EVERY issue of Amazing Spider-Man, from #1 right up to about 2007. But the idea of scrolling through images instead of actually sitting reading something in my hands just didn't appeal.

I've actually read a lot of comics on my computer that way since not every comic has a TPB out and I am not about to hunt down every last Deadpool or Birds of Prey backissue even if I could afford it. Downloading gets the job done, but having the actual book in-hand is definitely where it's at.
