Check this out. Marvel is producing a line of digital comic where they redo the existing art as an animatic and add dialogue so you can watch your comics in motion like a movie instead of just reading them. First on the block: a personal favorite, Astonishing X-Men. www.marvel.com/motion_comicsI wonder how the pervasive humor of the title is going to work out in that form. Apparently they are going to sell it on iTunes. I'd consider buying if I didn't already own every panel of the series.

Hmmm. Interesting, although it does just sum up the dumbed down generation of today who are too attention-span starved to actually sit down and read something.
I used to buy a monthly X-Men comic for a few years before I got bored rigid of it. I used to buy a Spidey comic at the same time and reading that was a joy and moving on to the X-Men was always a chore. I dunno why, it just seemed like every page was a one shot of Xavier with an entire page of text.
I've dipped back in now and again, but the younger Curmudgeon did find the X-Men more than a little dull.

You'd be doing yourself a huge favor by picking up the first TPB of Astonishing X-Men. No boredom to be found there, only pure joy. I've actually wearied of Spidey since the last film was a bust and the comic went downhill FAST, leading me to cancel my subscription. Only in the latest cartoon does Webhead not let me down anymore. I've canceled Astonishing X-Men as well after one of the most incredible sustained runs ever due to the continued delays and the replacement of the always-amazing Whedon/Cassaday team with plain dullness. The new X-Force series is beyond kickass, though.
