Well.. soon.
I was at some "future of television" presentation the other day, and we all had to sit in this dark circular room - on fucking BEAN BAGS, no less - while a promo video for on the current and future advances in television was played.
Anyway, they talked about the history of TV, then digital, then Sky+ (Tivo), then HD - and they then said 3D television is coming in the next couple of years, and a few shows are already being made to experiment with the possibilities of 3D, but that it is definitely the next step in television.
So yes indeed, the idea of sitting in your living room with stupid plastic glasses will soon become a reality.
